Q1: What is the degree of authenticity of this hadithJami` at-Tirmidhi 2888Da'if (Darussalam) ?
A1: This hadith was narrated by al-Tirmidhi from Abu Hurayrah from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is a weak hadith, as mentioned by Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti in [al-Jami' al-Saghir], and mentioned by Ibn al-Jawzi in [al-Mawdu'at]; because it contains 'Umar ibn Rashid ibn Shajarah , and he was deemed weak by Ahmad and Yahya ibn Ma'in and Abu Dawud and others. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
