The call to not abandon prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 2151 ):
Q4: We have many colleagues who do not pray, and perhaps they used to pray,
when they were with their families, but when they witnessed American life, they abandoned prayer and fasting and forgot their old religion. I and some of my colleagues advised them and called them to prayer, but they did not respond. So, is our obligation discharged
and we live in the same residence?

A4: If the situation is as you described, then your obligation is discharged, and their co-residence with you does not harm you out of necessity. It is obligatory for you to continue advising them and calling them to adhere to their religion with wisdom and good instruction, and to argue with them in the best manner, so that perhaps Allah will guide them through your hands, and you and they will gain much good and multiplied reward, if Allah wills. May Allah keep you firm, assist you, and grant you patience and the reward of the one who endures, for He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive. May He guide the rest of the colleagues to His straight path. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
