Treating illness by slaughtering some of the sheep or chickens on a person's chest or head
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of the fatwa number ( 8071 ):
Q6: Among the treatments they use to treat people is slaughtering some of the sheep or chickens on a person's chest or head or some silver rings that are placed on the patient's hand, or a small piece of cloth, or a handful of soil. I think they say that it is from the cloth and soil of the grave of a righteous relative of theirs. What is the ruling on treating illness with all of this, and is it permissible to believe them when they report something?
A6: Slaughtering for other than Allah is forbidden, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who slaughters for other than Allah, and it is one of the types of shirk (associating partners with Allah). Allah the Exalted said:[Al-An'am 6:162-163] , and it is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Sahih Muslim 1978b .
As for treating illness by the method mentioned in the question, it is reprehensible and not permissible, even if the slaughter is for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). It is not permissible to believe what they report, because they are sorcerers and false prophets. It is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)Sahih Muslim 2230 , and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan al-Bayhaqi 15:741 (peace and blessings be upon him). And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

(162) Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (163) No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first [among you] of the Muslims."
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allah

He who visits a diviner ('Arraf) and asks him about anything, his prayers extending to forty nights will not be accepted.
من أتى عرافًا لم تقبل له صلاة أربعين ليلةWhoever visits a soothsayer or a diviner and believes what he says has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad
من أتى كاهنًا أو عرافًا فصدّقه بما يقول فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمد
