The awliya (close friends of Allah) have no authority over anyone

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 3716 )
Q2: I hear and see with my own eyes that they say: the awliya (close friends of Allah) have authority in this world over the servant, and they say that they have forty forms, you see him as a man, you see him as a snake, a lion, and so on. They go to the graveyards and sleep there and spend the night there, and they say that he stands before them in a dream and says to them: Go, for you have been healed. Is this speech true or not?
A2: The awliya (close friends of Allah) have no authority over anyone. And what Allah has given them of the ordinary causes that Allah gives to other humans, they do not possess the ability to break the ordinary causes, nor can they take the form of anything other than humans, such as snakes, lions, monkeys, or similar animals. Rather, that is what Allah has given to the angels and the jinn, and He has singled them out for it. It is prescribed to go to the graveyards to visit them and to supplicate for forgiveness and mercy for their inhabitants. It is not permissible to go to them to seek blessing and healing from their inhabitants, or to call for aid from them in relieving distress and fulfilling needs. Rather, this is major shirk (associating partners with Allah), just as slaughtering for other than Allah is major shirk, whether it is at the graves of the awliya (close friends of Allah) or elsewhere. So what you have related about them is contrary to the Shari'ah (Islamic sacred law), rather it is from the reprehensible religious innovations (bid'ah) and shirk-based beliefs. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
