The ruling on reciting the salutation upon the Messenger (peace be upon him) aloud before or after the adhan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 9696 ):
Q1: In our country, Pakistan , although it is an Islamic government, some of the imams of the mosques insist on reciting the phrase: "Peace and blessings be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, and peace be upon you, O beloved of Allah," before they call the adhan, and they do not omit this phrase on any occasion. I perform all my prayers behind those imams. Is my prayer behind them valid or not? Or what should I do? And what is the ruling on those imams?
A1: First: Mentioning the salutation and blessings upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) before the adhan, and likewise reciting it aloud after the adhan, is an innovation introduced into the religion. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.من أحدث في أمرنا هذا ما ليس منه فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718a
Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim, and in a narration:
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.من عمل عملاً ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718b
Narrated by Muslim . Second: Whoever does that innovation, whoever approves of it, and whoever does not change it while being able to do so, is sinful. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
