Q1: In our village, some people take treatment from a doctor and ask him about the cause of the illness that afflicted the person, and he tells them the cause is such and such. Is that associating partners with Allah or not? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
A1: Consulting a doctor who treats with Arabic medicines is permissible, except if he is a fortune-teller, in which case it is not permissible to go to him or to be treated by him. This is the one who claims knowledge of the unseen or seeks the aid of the jinn. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
