Questions from the casting and whispering of Satan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

Fatwa number ( 8440 ):

Q: I got to know some friends who were the Christians, so I called them to Islam and they agreed, but on the condition that I answer a question from them. They acknowledge that Allah the Exalted is the Creator of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and the Creator of everything, but they ask: What is Allah made of? How was He formed? And who created Him? When they asked me these questions, I was greatly embarrassed, so I left and did not return to them a second time. I ask you to issue a ruling on this matter, and what is the answer that befits the status of Allah the Exalted, which I can say to them without embarrassment? May Allah reward you with good.
A: These questions are from the casting and whispering of Satan; he suggests them to his followers among the jinn and others to mislead them from the straight path. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) is the First, so there is nothing before Him, and He is the Last, so there is nothing after Him. He is One, with no likeness to Him, no similar one, no parent,
and no child, and no one is comparable to Him. It is established in the authentic collection of Muslim and others from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
People will constantly ask you questions pertaining to knowledge till they would say: Allah created us, but who created Allah?
Sahih Muslim 135a
. Abu Hurayrah said, while holding a man's hand: Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth. Two people have asked me, and this is the third. In another narration, it is said: (The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
People will keep asking you, O Abu Hurayrah, until they say: This is Allah, so who created Allah?
. He said: While I was in the mosque, some Bedouins came to me and said: O Abu Hurayrah , this is Allah, so who created Allah? He said: He took a handful of pebbles and threw them at them, then said: Get up, get up, my intimate friend has spoken the truth. In the two authentic collections, it is said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The Satan comes to everyone. of you and says: Who created this and that? till he questions: Who created your Lord? When he comes to that, one should seek refuge in Allah and keep away (from such idle thoughts).
Sahih Muslim 134c
. In another narration, it is said:
Men will continue to question one another till this is propounded: Allah created all things but who created Allah? He who found himself confronted with such a situation should say: I affirm my faith in Allah.
Sahih Muslim 134a
. Abu Dawud narrated the last narration, and he also narrated something similar, saying:
When they propound that, say: "Say Allah is one. Allah is He to Whom men repair. He has not begotten and He has not been begotten, and no one is equal to Him." Then one should spit three times on his left side and seek refuge in Allah from Satan.
Sunan Abi Dawud 4722Hasan (Al-Albani)
. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
