A Woman Praying Jumu'ah at Home

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Prayer of a Woman Who Is Uncovered

Question: Is the prayer of a woman who is not wearing a hijab in front of non-mahram men valid?

Answer: If by “not wearing a hijab” you mean that she is not covering her face, then her prayer is valid in itself, but she commits a sin by exposing her face; because it is obligatory for a woman to cover her face from non-mahram men, based on many proofs from the Book and the Sunnah.
[A Woman Praying Jumu'ah at Home]

Question: I used to pray Jumu'ah as men do it: two rak'ahs of sunnah and two rak'ahs of fard. But I read in a booklet on prayer that Jumu'ah is not obligatory for a woman. Did I make a mistake?

Answer: You made a mistake in the past; because a woman’s Jumu'ah prayer is not valid unless she attends with the men. If she attends, she prays with the men, and her prayer is valid by following them.
