The Woman’s Friday Prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 16329 )
Q2: What is the ruling for a woman who is unable to pray in the mosque every Friday , and does she pray it at home as two rak'ahs or four rak'ahs?
A2: It is better for the woman to pray in her home, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): ; because the woman is a fitnah (trial), and her going out exposes her to fitnah. However, if she goes out to the mosque and prays behind the imam, her prayer is valid, and her Friday prayer behind the imam suffices for her in place of the Dhuhr prayer. As for if she prays in her home,
she prays Dhuhr as four rak'ahs, and does not pray Friday, and in this case it does not suffice for her in place of the Dhuhr prayer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
