Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And those who, when the verses of their Lord are recited to them, do not fall down before them deaf and blind.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind. وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَمْ يَخِرُّوا عَلَيْهَا صُمّاً وَعُمْيَاناً
[Al-Furqan 25:73]
This means that if they forget something of the obedience of Allah, and then someone reminds them of it, they accept it, hear it, and see it. So they do not fall down before it deaf and blind. Rather, they receive it with acceptance and comfort, and they fulfill what is obligatory upon them. Indeed, some people, may Allah protect us from that, when reminded of the verses of Allah, become arrogant and proud. They say: Who are you to order me? Who are you to forbid me? I am greater than you. I know more than you. And this is forbidden. It is obligatory that when someone reminds you of the obedience of Allah, you should remember it, and not fall down before it deaf and blind.
