Explaining the importance of hastening to perform the obligatory Hajj, for a person may encounter circumstances that only Allah knows which may prevent him from doing righteous deeds.

The Shaykh : And from this, I move to the topic I alluded to earlier, which is Hajj. If a person is in a state of ability to perform Hajj, it is one of the five pillars of Islam that a Muslim must perform, as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the hadith agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim, narrated by Ibn 'Umar, which has passed before us in this book a long time ago in the Book of Hajj and the Book of Prayer and elsewhere. It is his saying (peace be upon him)
Islam is based on (the following) five (principles): 1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). 2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly. 3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity) . 4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca) 5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.
Sahih al-Bukhari 8
And Allah Mighty and Majestic says, as you know,
And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves - then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.
[Ali 'Imran 3:97]
Therefore, it is obligatory for every Muslim who is able to perform Hajj to the House of Allah the Exalted to hasten to this Hajj, fearing that death may overtake him, as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) indicated in the hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad and others, where he said:
Whoever intends to perform Hajj, let him hasten, for the sick may become ill and the mount may stray.
This means that a person must seize the opportunity and take advantage of his youth, strength, wealth, and his ability to utilize all the means available to him, so that he becomes one upon whom Hajj is obligatory and who has the means to perform it. Otherwise, a person may be healthy today and then become ill, claiming, "By Allah, I am not able to perform Hajj." Where were you when you were healthy?
Therefore, it came in the hadith:
Seize five things before five others
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 34:92
and it mentioned therein:
Your youth before your old age, and your health before your illness.
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 34:92
A Muslim must remember this reality that we observe in everyone: the healthy becomes ill. In those days, the means of travel for Hajj to the House of Allah the Exalted from distant places was the mount. Therefore, he (peace be upon him) said:
And the mount may stray.
he may fall sick, lose his mount
Sunan Ibn Majah 2883Hasan (Darussalam)
Especially camels, for their nature is to stray and wander. So a person may own a camel he has prepared to perform Hajj on, and then be surprised to find that this camel has strayed and wandered... he may not find it, or he may find it after the opportunity has passed and after he has lost the ability to perform Hajj to the House of Allah the Exalted in that year. Therefore, if a Muslim remembers death, he should be driven to perform what is obligatory upon him before death overtakes him.
We are now in the season of Hajj. So whoever among you has not yet performed the Hajj of Islam and finds in himself the ability in its broad sense—ability in his body, in his health, ability in his wealth, ability in everything surrounding him—may be, for example, an employee of the state, and the state does not allow him to perform Hajj. We say, "I will perform Hajj next year." Here we say to this employee: You must utilize all means so that you do not delay in hastening to perform Hajj to the House of Allah the Exalted on the excuse that, "By Allah, my boss did not allow me." We know of many ways that some people take to achieve what is less obligatory than Hajj to the House of Allah the Exalted, and they succeed in that. Therefore, utilizing all possible means for such an employee, let alone others, to hasten to Hajj is more necessary and more necessary.
