What is the ruling on what many mu'adhdhins do, where they melodize their voices and prolong them excessively?

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. And prayers and peace be upon the noblest of the prophets and messengers, our master and our prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his companions. As for what follows: Your Excellency,The Shaykh : (may Allah preserve you), peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings. What is the ruling on what many mu'adhdhins do, where they ... their voices and prolong them excessively, and in the adhan for the Fajr prayer it is said: "Prayer is better than sleep"?
The Shaykh : Among the religious innovations that the previous imams and the scholars of hadith and jurisprudence warned about, foremost among them being the Imam of the Sunnah, Ahmad ibn Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him), is melodizing and embellishing the adhan. This is because the adhan of the mu'adhdhins in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not contain any embellishment or melodizing. The Salaf inherited from the Companions their adhan, from people like Bilal, 'Amr ibn Umm Maktum, and Abu Mahdhura, speaking in the Arabic dialect without any embellishment or melodizing. And it is clear, in my belief, to everyone what is meant by melodizing and embellishing; it is prolonging the voice where prolongation is not permissible linguistically or religiously, and shortening it where prolongation is prescribed, all of this in consideration of the musical rules upon which the system of embellishment and melodizing is based. And it was reported from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) ... a man came to him and said: "O Ibn 'Umar, I love you for the sake of Allah." He said to him: "As for me, I hate you for the sake of Allah." He said: "Why?" He said: "Because you melodize in your adhan and take a wage for it." Melodize: you embellish in the adhan, and you also take a wage for it.
In this established report from Ibn 'Umar, there is a clear warning that the mu'adhdhin is not permitted to embellish in his adhan, and you have known what embellishment is, indeed you do not need to be told, for unfortunately you hear the adhan from Egypt and from some Arab countries as well, this adhan that Ibn 'Umar hated his companion for because he was melodizing and embellishing in it.
The second thing, and this is very important, is that it was mentioned to him that what led Ibn 'Umar to not love him for the sake of Allah, but rather to hate him, was that he takes a wage for his adhan. And there is no doubt and no ambiguity that it is not permissible, according to all Muslim scholars without any notable disagreement among them, to take a wage for any type of worship. This is because Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) has mentioned in more than one verse of the Noble Qur'an that worship is not accepted unless it is sincere for His face (Blessed and Exalted is He), as He said (Mighty and Majestic):[Al-Bayyinah 98:5], and as He said (Blessed and Exalted is He): [Yusuf 12:108]. His statement: [Al-An'am 6:79] includes shirk (associating partners with Allah) in all its types, and among that is shirk in the sincerity to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). So if a person performs an act of worship not for the face of Allah but with the intention of immediate worldly wage, that is a type of shirk, as He said (Blessed and Exalted is He) in another verse: [Al-Kahf 18:110].
The scholars of tafsir (exegesis) said: That is: let him perform an action that conforms to the Sunnah; for any action, any worship that does not conform to the Sunnah, will not be a righteous deed. And there are many hadiths in this regard; one hadith is sufficient for us, and that is his statement (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan al-Bayhaqi 17:1261. So the righteous deed must be according to the Sunnah; this is the first condition mentioned in this verse: .
And the second condition:[Al-Kahf 18:110] that is: he does not seek with his worship of his Lord a worldly wage. And on this basis, it should be pointed out that if a person is a mu'adhdhin and has a salary, he should not take this salary as a wage for his adhan; because above all, he has contradicted Allah in His command that his worship be sincere for His face (Blessed and Exalted is He). Then he loses the virtue of the mu'adhdhin which is mentioned in some authentic hadiths. So what he takes from the salary, he takes it as a salary, and he must not take it as a wage for what you heard from the report of Ibn 'Umar where he said to him: "I hate you because you take a wage for your adhan and melodize in it." The first part of this sentence has a clear and authentic hadith; therefore, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As as governor over his tribe, Banu Thaqif, he said to him (peace and blessings be upon him): . So it is not permissible for the mu'adhdhin to melodize in his adhan, but rather he raises his voice with it without prolonging and without shortening.

ولا يشرك بعبادة ربه أحدًاYou are their imam, so follow the weakest of them, and appoint a mu'adhdhin who does not take a wage for his adhan.
