Mention of some of what came in the Sunnah regarding the settling of accounts and reckoning that occurs on the Day of Resurrection after entering the Fire (arrival) and exiting from it.

The Shaykh : These believers, once they are purified from the Fire, are either among those who were punished and then exited, or among those who entered only for the lesson and not for punishment. The Messenger (peace be upon him) said about them: Sahih al-Bukhari 2440 They are stopped there for a pause for a new reckoning concerning the rights that a Muslim has over another Muslim, a settling of accounts and reckoning, as he said in the hadith: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 486. It appears that this settling of accounts is of the type that preceded in the knowledge of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that the oppressed will pardon those who wronged them; because it is assumed that this kind of settling of accounts, for which a person is held accountable and judged, takes place before entering the Fire, so that he deserves to remain in the Fire being punished to the extent he deserves. But after exiting the Fire, why is there settling of accounts?! It appears that this type of settling of accounts is among what preceded in the knowledge of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that tolerance will occur between the wrongdoer and the wronged. There is a hadith, and although its chain of narration is weak in terms of transmission, its meaning is very acceptable in terms of the vastness of the mercy of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and His grace and mercy toward His servants. This hadith says, in summary: The wrongdoer and the wronged, after the wronged pardons the wrongdoer, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) admits him into Paradise. So these who settle accounts after passing through the Fire, it appears they are of this type for which it preceded in the knowledge of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that the wronged pardons his wrongdoer.
It is possible that it is of the other type, and this was also explained in another hadith, but it is authentic. Namely, his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Naturally, this authentic hadith represents for us the bankrupt among these people, a complete bankruptcy, because it is not hidden from us all that aggression is of various types, whether in terms of cursing, insulting, or usurping wealth. So one who usurped once, or insulted once, or struck once, is not equal, naturally, to one whose habit was that. So the one whose habit is aggression against people with these examples and others is the one from whom his good deeds will be taken, and taken, and taken, until nothing remains of his good deeds, and he is not yet satisfied regarding what he owes of the rights of the wronged, so the bad deeds of those wronged people are taken and thrown upon him, and he is thrown into the Fire. This is the worst. The Messenger (peace be upon him) speaks in the hadith of the bankrupt about the worst of the bankrupts. Therefore, we can imagine that there are people who are bankrupt initially or slightly, so when they settle accounts after exiting the Fire, they still have some provision and reserve of good deeds, so it is possible that some of their good deeds are taken and given to the wronged from those people, but the wrongdoer still has a remainder of good deeds such that he deserves to continue his path to Paradise with them.
The point is: that the settling of accounts, verification, and reckoning, as is derived from this hadith and others, is of two types: a type before entering the Fire, and the second type: after entering the Fire. This second type, which is after entering the Fire, does not necessitate that one who has some rights owed to him enters the Fire, because he will be satisfied either with what he has of many good deeds, or by the pardon of the wronged person who he wronged in worldly life.
When the believers pass safely over (the bridge across) Hell, they will be stopped at a bridge in between Hell and Paradise
إذا خلص المؤمنون مِن النار حُبِسُوا بقنطرةٍ بين الجنة والنارThey were be interrogated concerning the injustices which occurred between them in this world.
يتقاصُّون مظالمَ بينهم في الدنياThat when people stand for the reckoning on the Day of Resurrection, and the wronged takes his due from the wrongdoer and holds him accountable, he raises his gaze to a distant horizon, and a very beautiful palace appears to him, captivating his mind and intellect. He says: O Lord, whose is this palace? He said: It is for the one who paid the price, or for the one who will pay the price. He said: O Lord, and what is its price? He said: That you pardon your brother. He says: I have pardoned him. So Allah (Mighty and Majestic) admits him into Paradise with his companion
It is possible that it is of the other type, and this was also explained in another hadith, but it is authentic. Namely, his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Do you know who the bankrupt is? They said: O Messenger of Allah, the bankrupt among us is the one who has no dirham and no goods. He said: The bankrupt among you is the one who comes on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like mountains, having struck this one, insulted this one, and eaten the wealth of this one. So this one takes from his good deeds, and this one from his good deeds, and this one from his good deeds, until when nothing remains of his good deeds, the bad deeds of them are taken and thrown upon him, and he is thrown into the Fire
