How to reconcile the following two texts: The first: What al-Bukhari narrated (The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not pray over Suhayl ibn Bayda and his brother except in the mosque)

The questioner : Shaykh, how do you reconcile the following two texts: The first: What al-Bukhari narrated from the hadith of Aisha:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not pray over Suhayl ibn Bayda and his brother except in the mosque ما صلَّى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على سُهيل بن بيضاء وأخيه إلا في المسجد
Musannaf Abd al-Razzaq 7:528
, and the second: His saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
There is no reward for one who prays over a funeral in the mosque ليس لمن صلى على الجنازة في المسجد شيء
, and did you include this hadith in *Sahih al-Jami' al-Saghir*?

The Shaykh : I do not think it begins with: "There is no"!
Whoever prays over a funeral in the mosque, he has no reward من صلى على الجنازة في المسجد فلا شيء له
This is the hadith, so where is the contradiction in your view between the two hadiths, his saying:
he has nothing for him فلا شيء له
?

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh :
he has nothing for him فلا شيء له
This means: It is established or settled in the mind of every Muslim that the original ruling for obligatory prayers is that if they are prayed in the mosque, they have a special virtue. So, since the funeral prayer is an obligation, even if it is a collective obligation, it may come to mind that praying it in the mosque is better than praying it outside the mosque, and that it has that known virtue of the obligatory prayer in the mosque. So, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was seen, his predominant habit was to pray over funerals outside the mosque and in the prayer area, but he prayed, as Lady Aisha mentioned, over the sons of Bayda in the mosque. So in his prayer, there is an indication of the permissibility of the funeral prayer in the mosque. And in his saying:
So he has no reward فليس له شيء
, meaning: from the aspect of the reward that is known in performing obligatory prayers in the mosque, there is no contradiction between this and that.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
