The questioner : He saysThe questioner : The saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Between every adhan and iqamah there is a prayer بين كلِّ أذان وإقامة صلاة
, does this include the prayer of women? And is it shortened between the adhan and the iqamah?

The Shaykh : And is it shortened? What?

The questioner : And is it shortened between the adhan and the iqamah?

Another questioner : In the voluntary.

The Shaykh : This varies depending on the prayers. For example, in the Maghrib prayer, it is only for the duration of the pre-prayer sunnah, after which the prayer is established. As for the Zuhr and 'Asr prayers, there is room, and in the 'Isha' prayer, there is even more room. As for whether women are included in the generality of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Between every two calls (to prayer) there is a Salat بين كل أذانين صلاة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 185Sahih (Darussalam)
, there is nothing that excludes women from being included in the generality of this hadith. The answer is: they are included with them.

The questioner : And likewise, if a man prays Fajr in congregation and remains in the mosque until the sun rises, remembering Allah, is it permissible for him to pray these two rak'ahs in his home? And likewise, is it permissible for women to sit in their homes after the Fajr prayer... and then receive that reward?

The Shaykh : As for women, they have that right. As for the man, if he desires the specific virtue of the one who remains in his place of prayer until the sun rises and then prays two rak'ahs, a complete 'Umrah is recorded for him, then he should remain in his place and pray those two rak'ahs if he wishes to attain this virtue.

The questioner : The hadith is about Hajj and 'Umrah.

The Shaykh : Hajj and 'Umrah? Hajj and 'Umrah.
