Speaking about taking the permissible means prescribed by the Shari'ah to preserve wealth, and mentioning an authentic story regarding this.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The host has played his role and finished.

The Shaykh : But the stage, as if with its silent tongue, said to him: Look at me. At first, he did not pay attention to it, but in the end, he reached out his hand to it, and it was heavy, weighing a thousand dinars. He took it to the house and broke it open, and the dinars collapsed before him. He was astonished, and before long, the debtor came. Here, the sincerity of each of them is revealed, and as it is said: "Birds of a feather flock together." The man ignored what he had done.

The questioner : Oh, what a marvel...

The Shaykh : And he paid him a thousand dinars.

The questioner : Anything else?

The Shaykh : Hmm.

The questioner : Other than that.

The Shaykh : Here is the sincerity. The man was surprised and found he had two thousand. What is this? And then, the previous event was a strange, miraculous occurrence; the wood. He told the debtor the story of the wood. Here, the man could not help but say: By Allah, on the day of the appointment, when I felt that I could not fulfill the promise, I took the thousand and crushed it into this wood, and I said: O Lord, You were the guarantor and You were the witness. He said: May Allah bless you in your wealth; Allah has paid your debt for you. And he returned to him what? The thousand dinars. Now, imagine in this time, a man picks up a piece of wood from the open sea, and in it are a thousand dinars, and no one knows about it; if he concealed it.

The questioner : He would hide it, yes.

The Shaykh : If someone concealed it, what would they say to him?

The questioner : Never, except Allah.

The Shaykh : No one has any news of it, but these pure hearts that watch Allah and know that Allah is All-Aware of what is in the breasts, nothing is hidden from Him on earth or in the sky, this taqwa (mindfulness of Allah) is what drove him to return the thousand dinars to him, and that Allah paid your debt before you paid me with your hand.
What do we see here? Where is the lesson? Our Lord made the sea subservient to this righteous believer; so take it as a lesson, what He makes subservient.

The questioner :
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out
[At-Talaq 65:2]
.

The Shaykh : Ah, He does not make subservient for a Muslim who fears Allah, so he does not deposit his wealth in the bank to preserve his taqwa (mindfulness of Allah); will He not support him? Will He not care for him? Yes.
Now, the second story, which is also like the first in the subject we are currently addressing, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
While a man from those before you was walking in a desolate place of the earth; when he heard a voice from the sky saying
; meaning: he addresses the clouds
Rain on the land of so-and-so اسقِ أرض فلان
, a voice from the sky that is never heard, this is a matter that transcends the ordinary, this man who walks on the earth and hears this voice from the sky, without a doubt, he noticed that here is a matter that transcends the ordinary,
So he walked with the cloud; until he found the cloud emptying its load of water into a garden
, our man looked into the garden
And he saw in it a man working with his spades
; with his pickaxe, peace be upon you; and upon you be peace;
He greeted him by the name he had heard from the sky. The man was surprised and noticed signs of unfamiliarity on the one who had greeted him, realizing that he was not from that region. So he was frank with him about it. He said to him, "By Allah, I was walking when I heard a voice from the clouds, so I followed the clouds until I found them watering only your garden and your land. How did you attain that?" He said, "By Allah, I do not know of anything for which I deserve this prophetic miracle from Allah, but I plant this land and harvest it, and I divide my harvest into three parts: one third I return to the earth, one third I spend on myself and my family, and one third I give in charity to the poor and needy around me." He said, "That is it."
,
It is this.
.
So - may Allah bless you - take it as a lesson; that if you fear Allah, and you take the lawful means to preserve your wealth; then Allah will not disappoint you, and He will be with you; because Allah is with the righteous, and beware of thinking ill of Allah; meaning: that you believe that if you fear Allah, our Lord - Mighty and Majestic - neglected you and cared for the wicked sinner, preserving his wealth and losing yours; no, this is reversing the legal facts, it is not conceivable that a Muslim would fall into such a state unless he is heedless or ignorant, and the sweetest of them - as it is said - is bitter.
On this basis, I say: suppose a person has ten thousand riyals or dinars, then he is able to place the largest portion of this amount in a secure place, whatever its nature, such that it does not occur to a thief or robber to reach out his hand to it, and then he keeps with him what he needs every week, every month, and so on, and by this his life is straightened and his mind and thoughts are settled on the fact that his wealth is preserved, first by Allah's preservation of it, and second by his taking the permissible means prescribed by the Shari'ah, and not by taking the means that are not permissible by the Shari'ah.
Then I want to draw attention to the fact that many people, in their approach to preserving wealth, are like small children, and no offense; when we were students in elementary school, we would see some mischievous students come to surprise their classmate with a trick, "I'm going to trick you," he would be alert, "A quintal of lead, is it heavier or cotton?" He had in his mind that lead is heavier; he would say to you directly: No, lead. My brother, I am telling you: a quintal of this and a quintal of that; there is no difference, but a quintal of lead is this amount, and a quintal of cotton might take a room, it takes the whole room.

The questioner : In terms of volume, yes.

The Shaykh : This is an illusion, now people are grown up, people fall into illusion, what do they say? Where should we put our money? As if the bank is safe from theft, from fire, from bankruptcy; even though these things happen!!

The questioner : They happen, yes.

The Shaykh : Do you see?

The questioner : They happen...

The Shaykh : But people are heedless; so when you say: I want to put my money, I want to secure my money, where? In the bank, you are forgetting that this bank is exposed to burning, exposed to theft, how many times it has happened, and then third and last: bankruptcy! So you have nothing to do but fear Allah and take the permissible means prescribed by the Shari'ah; and by this my observation or my speech regarding your question ends.

The questioner : Clear, clear.

The Shaykh : Clear, if Allah wills, and we ask Allah to preserve us.

The questioner : ... reliance on one of the best banks, in one moment they ate it.

The Shaykh : This has happened often.

The questioner : When did it go bankrupt? When they ate it, where is the money? In their hands.

The Shaykh : That is it.

Another questioner : It is possible to mention here, now it has become...

The questioner : Zero.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : They ate the rights of people and depositors; whether with interest or without interest, they ate it all.

The Shaykh: Correct.

The questioner : Meaning the examples exist in life, and take heed, O people of understanding.

The Shaykh : Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest.

Another questioner : Our Shaykh, there are also two questions.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : One question is enough, you have tired the Shaykh.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.
No, the Shaykh, this is his habit.

The questioner : May Allah keep you safe, and what a good habit.

The Shaykh : and praise be to Allah - by His grace, often from after the 'Isha' prayer to Fajr with some deviant people, I remember clearly that the first night was from Maghrib to 'Isha', and the session ended, the second night from 'Isha' to eleven o'clock, the third night from the 'Isha' prayer to the Fajr adhan.

The questioner : Indeed, your body has a right over you.

The Shaykh : And praise be to Allah, our Lord - Mighty and Majestic - is the one who determines.
Yes.
