Eid Abbasi : This is also the case if the son of this usurious person— is it permissible for him to eat from his food and drink?
The Shaykh : We have answered with this same response regarding the son, along with an additional point: that this son should try... to refrain from eating from his father's wealth; meaning, he should... earn his livelihood through the labor of his hands and the sweat of his brow, and not remain a burden on his father. This is because it is feared that he will be influenced by his father's method of earning money on one hand, and by this forbidden wealth on the other, if the sense of its sanctity dies within him. It is also feared that if he continues to eat this food, the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) will apply to him:Mishkat al-Masabih 2825Sahih (Al-Albani), and in another wording: Mishkat al-Masabih 2772. This hadith applies first to the one directly engaged in the labor, and then it extends to anyone who shares in his food and drink permanently and forever without any disapproval. Therefore, if a dutiful son is afflicted with a sinful, wicked father who does not prohibit or permit [what is wrong], and he is compelled to eat from this wealth acquired through a forbidden path, he must get rid of this food as soon as possible.

Hell is more fitting for him whose flesh is nourished by what is unlawful.

كلُّ لحمٍ نَبَتَ من السحت فالنار أولى به
