The Shaykh : As came in the authentic hadith from his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Marry women who are fertile and loving; for I shall boast of you before the nations on the Day of Resurrection. تزوَّجوا الولود الودود ؛ فإني مباهٍ بكم الأممَ يوم القيامة
,
Marry women who are fertile and loving; for I shall boast of you before the nations on the Day of Resurrection. تزوَّجوا الولود الودود ؛ فإني مباهٍ بكم الأممَ يوم القيامة
, so the one who marries and protects his chastity and protects his wife has a reward for that. These men did not know; so one of them vowed upon himself what was mentioned before, saying: “As for me, I will not marry women.” And they departed. Then when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) returned and they mentioned to him what they had heard from those men regarding what they had agreed upon among themselves, the Messenger (peace be upon him) gave a sermon in his mosque and said:
What is the matter with the people that they say such and such? ما بال أقوام يقولون كذا وكذا وكذا ؟!
Sunan Abi Dawud 4788Sahih (Al-Albani)
He (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated to the hearing of those present what each one of them had said: this last one will not marry women, and the second said: “I will stand in prayer all my life, fast all my life and not break my fast,” and that one said: “I will stand in prayer all night and not sleep.”
