The Ruling on Delegating the Stoning for One Who Is Unable

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May I ask, is it permissible for a woman to delegate someone to stone the pillars on her behalf out of fear of the severe crowd?
The Shaykh : If a woman or a man is unable to stone amidst the crowd and cannot postpone the stoning to a time of ease, then he may delegate. However, if he is able to postpone the stoning to a time of ease, such as: postponing the daytime stoning to the night, or bringing forward the stoning of the Day of Sacrifice to the last night of the festival, then it is not permissible for him to delegate.because of His saying, the Exalted:
And complete the Hajj and 'umrah for Allahوَأَتِمُّوا الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ لِلَّهِ
[al-Baqarah:196] The stoning is among the acts of Hajj, so a person must perform it himself and not delegate it to anyone.

And in light of this: The woman and the man are equal in this matter. Whoever is able to stone, even at another time, it is not permissible for him to delegate. And whoever is unable, he may delegate.
