Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (The believers are but brothers)]
Then Allah the Mighty and Majestic said: [Al-Hujurat: 10] This is like an explanation for His saying: (So make peace between them) meaning: Allah has only made it obligatory upon us to make peace between the two warring factions because the believers are brothers. The two warring factions are all brothers, and we are also brothers to them, even with the fighting,If someone were to say: Did not the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: (Cursing a Muslim is open sinfulness and fighting him is disbelief) and the disbeliever is not a brother to the believer? The answer is to say: The disbelief mentioned by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is a disbelief less than disbelief, so not everything that the Shari'ah calls disbelief is [major] disbelief. Here, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) explicitly stated that these two warring factions are our brothers, even though fighting a believer is disbelief,It is said: This is a disbelief less than disbelief,And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Two things among the people are considered disbelief: slandering lineage and wailing over the dead) It is known that the one who slanders lineage and the one who wails over the dead are not declared disbelievers by major shirk, so this indicates that disbelief in the Shari'ah of Allah, in the Book and the Sunnah, is of two types: disbelief that expels one from the religion, and disbelief that does not expel one from the religion.
[Al-Hujurat: 10] And in this is the carrying over of the conjunction to these two warring factions, which is apparent in His saying: (Brothers, so make peace between your two brothers) Just as you make peace between your two full brothers by lineage, so make peace between your two brothers in faith.
[Al-Hujurat: 10] Meaning: Fear Allah the Exalted by doing what He has commanded you and leaving what He has forbidden you, because if you do this, you have taken protection from the punishment of Allah, and this is taqwa. Accordingly, whenever you hear the word taqwa in the Qur'an, the meaning is: taking protection from the punishment of Allah by doing His commands and avoiding His prohibitions. (Perhaps you will be shown mercy) meaning: So that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) will have mercy on you if you fear Him.
Then Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
