Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: “Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?”
Then Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) explained His previous blessings upon him so that he could use them as evidence for the subsequent blessings. So he said:
Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيماً فَآوَى
[al-Dhuha:6] The interrogative here is for affirmation,Meaning: Allah the Exalted found you an orphan, so He sheltered you, an orphan from your father and an orphan from your mother. His father died before he was born, and his mother died before she finished nursing him. But Allah the Exalted took charge of him and made it easy for someone to raise him and defend him until he reached the goal that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) intended.

And his statement: (an orphan, so He sheltered) and He did not say: (so He sheltered you) for two reasons: the first: a linguistic reason.

The second: A semantic reason.

As for the linguistic reason: So that the beginnings of the verses would be consistent from the start of the surah.

As for the semantic reason: For if He had said: (so He sheltered you), the sheltering would have been specific to him (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the matter is broader than that. For Allah the Exalted sheltered him and sheltered through him. He sheltered the believers through him, supporting them, strengthening them, and repelling harm from them; indeed, He (Glorified and Exalted is He) defended them.
