Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And We have removed from you your burden)]
Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Sharh: 2] You might say: There is a contradiction between the two clauses; the first is a present-tense verb (nashrah) and the second is a past-tense verb: (wa-ḍaʿnā) But based on the report I mentioned, which is that (Alam nashrah) means "We have opened," and (wa-ḍaʿnā) is a conjunction with its counterpart and equivalent.
[Ash-Sharh 94:2] We removed it: meaning We cast it away, We pardoned, We forgave, and We overlooked (your burden that broke your back) meaning: that which caused it pain and suffering, because the back is the place of carrying, so if there is a load that tires the back, then tiring anything else is even more so, meaning the strongest of your limbs for carrying is the back, and look at the difference between carrying a sack on your back or carrying it in your hands; there is a difference between them.
So the meaning is: That Allah the Exalted forgave the burden and sin of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), until it remained forgiven for him,Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said: [Al-Fath: 1-2] And it was said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) while he was standing in night prayer and prolonging it until his feet swelled or cracked, that it was said to him: (How do you do this when Allah has forgiven you what has come before of your sin and what has come after?!) He affirmed this statement, he affirmed that Allah Mighty and Majestic had forgiven him what had come before of his sin and what had come after, but he said: (Should I not be a grateful servant?) .
So the forgiveness of the sins of the Messenger of Allah, both those that came before and those that came after, is established by the Qur'an and the Sunnah, and this is one of the specific attributes of the Messenger (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him); no one among the people is forgiven what has come before of their sin and what has come after except the Messenger, as for others, they need to repent from the sin, and Allah Blessed and Exalted may forgive them without repentance for anything less than shirk (associating partners with Allah), but we are certain that the Messenger (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) was forgiven what had come before of his sin and what had come after,For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:[Ash-Sharh 94:2] .
Allah the Exalted said:
And We removed from you your burden
وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَAnd We removed from you your burden
وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَSo the meaning is: That Allah the Exalted forgave the burden and sin of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), until it remained forgiven for him,Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said:
(1) Indeed, We have given you, [O Muhammad], a clear conquest (2) That Allah may forgive for you what preceded of your sin and what will follow
إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحاً مُبِيناً * لِيَغْفِرَ لَكَ اللَّهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَSo the forgiveness of the sins of the Messenger of Allah, both those that came before and those that came after, is established by the Qur'an and the Sunnah, and this is one of the specific attributes of the Messenger (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him); no one among the people is forgiven what has come before of their sin and what has come after except the Messenger, as for others, they need to repent from the sin, and Allah Blessed and Exalted may forgive them without repentance for anything less than shirk (associating partners with Allah), but we are certain that the Messenger (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) was forgiven what had come before of his sin and what had come after,For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
