Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And that his effort will be seen)
Allah the Exalted said: [Surah al-Najm: 40] Is the meaning that the reward for the effort will be seen in the Hereafter at the time of recompense, or that the effort itself will be seen in this world and known?
This is general; it will be seen in this world and it will be seen in the Hereafter. What is seen in the Hereafter is the reward, and in this world it is the deed itself. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said: [Surah al-Tawbah: 105] Meaning: Your deeds will not be hidden from those in your time; Allah will see your deeds, and His Messenger, and the believers.
On this occasion, I would like to point out that some people, when they do a deed such as a library, a mosque, a building for the poor, or something similar, write: [Surah al-Tawbah: 105] This is not permissible, because one of the three parties cannot see it. Who is it? The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) cannot see this deed. It is true that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) sees it, and the believers at that time see it, but the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) does not see it. Furthermore, this is regarding the hypocrites, and it is a threat to them, not praise of them.In any case, we say: A person’s effort will be seen, but Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) may conceal a servant’s sins from him, out of His grace and favor. And when He meets him in the Hereafter, He will be alone with Him (Glorified and Exalted is He) and will confront him with his sins. And he said: (I have concealed it from you in this world, and I am forgiving it for you today) But the original rule is that a person’s effort will be seen: [Surah al-Najm: 41] Meaning: After it is seen, he will be recompensed for it (with the fullest recompense) Meaning: the most complete. The fullest recompense for the good is an increase in the reward, and the fullest recompense for the evil is justice, such that no addition is made to his evil deeds. And on this basis, the fullest recompense is explained by two meanings: Justice, and increase.
Justice in the evil deed: It is not possible for a single evil deed to be increased.Favor in the good deeds: A good deed is multiplied tenfold, up to seven hundredfold, up to many multiples, and praise be to Allah. And may prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions.
