Ruling on the statement: "This is an unlucky day" or "a wretched day"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What is the ruling on the one who says: Is this an unlucky day, or a wretched day?
Do you recite the Qur'an?The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh: Look at what Lot said when the angels came to him:
And he said, "This is a severe day."وَقَالَ هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيبٌ
[Hud: 77] meaning: severe,If the speaker's intention when he said: Saying "this is an unlucky day" is cursing the day, and this is forbidden. However, if his intention is merely to inform, then there is nothing wrong with it. As for saying "a happy day," that is fine, as it falls under the category of optimism, and optimism is all good.
