The student: The saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic:
during days of misfortune في أيام نحسات
[Fussilat 41:16]
The attribution of ill-omen to the days?

The Shaykh : Yes, there is nothing wrong with it, as Lut said:
This is a difficult day هذا يوم عصيب
This is if the intent is mere reporting, and here the intent is mere reporting. However, if the intent is to find fault or insult, then it is not permissible. So this insult or finding fault is either in the way of reporting or in the way of insult. In the first case, it is permissible, and in the second, it is not permissible. The parallel to this is informing a sick person of what he feels. Sometimes his companion asks him, “How were you last night?” and he complains, saying, “By Allah, I did not sleep last night; there was pain in the head, the neck, the back, the stomach, and the legs.” If he says this in the way of complaining, it is not permissible, because it contradicts patience. But if he says it in the way of reporting, there is nothing wrong with it. For this reason, some sick people come in and say, “I am reporting, not complaining, that such and such happened to me.” Did you understand? Good.
