Machine translationRead the Arabic original
I went with my children for 'Umrah, and we did not shorten or shave. What is the way?The Shaykh: Did you not shave or shorten? The questioner: We did not shave or shorten.'Umrah! The Shaykh: And did you exit the state of ihram? The questioner: We exited the state of ihram, and then we did not shorten.Because I said: It is a matter of 'Umrah. Shortening is not obligatory. I came from Kuwait, may you live long.

The Shaykh: Very well! Slaughter a fidyah in Makkah and distribute it to the poor.

The questioner: A fidyah, how do you mean? The Shaykh: Now, every person in Makkah,Say: Buy a sacrificial animal for me, slaughter it, and distribute it to the poor.

The questioner: Does each person have to provide a sacrificial animal, or do we all have one fidyah for us?The Shaykh: Each person has to provide a sacrificial animal, and as you heard a moment ago,My advice: that if a person neglects something, he should ask about it immediately and not delay.

The questioner: I thought that 'Umrah did not involve shaving, out of my ignorance.

The Shaykh: In any case, this is the obligatory duty. May Allah the Exalted accept it.

The questioner: Is it permissible for me to make a bequest for it and pay it?The Shaykh: It is permissible for you to make a bequest for it.

The questioner: I will make a bequest for it.

The Shaykh: You make a bequest to a person, and if you want to go yourself, that is good. You perform 'Umrah and pay the fidyah.

The questioner: Is there no one here to whom I can make a bequest? May Allah reward you with good. I am from Kuwait.

The Shaykh: By Allah, there is.Meaning: If you give us 400 riyals.

The questioner: The amount with us.

The Shaykh: Give us 400 riyals, and if Allah wills, we will find someone.

The questioner: Does each individual have 400?The Shaykh: Each individual 400.

The questioner: May Allah reward you with good.
