Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (The Bedouins said, “We have believed”)

Then Allah the Exalted said:
The bedouins say, "We have believed."
[Surah al-Hujurat: 14] .

The Bedouins: “Al-A’rab” is a collective noun for a Bedouin, and the Bedouin is a resident of the desert, exactly like a nomad. The Bedouins boasted and said: “We have believed”; they boasted of their faith.

So Allah the Exalted said:
Say, "You have not [yet] believed; but say [instead], 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your heartsقُلْ لَمْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَلَكِنْ قُولُوا أَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ الْأِيمَانُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ
[Surah al-Hujurat: 14] :-It is said: Indeed, these are among the hypocrites;because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And among those around you of the bedouins are hypocrites
[Surah al-Tawbah: 101] , and the hypocrite is a Muslim; but he is not a believer. He is a Muslim because he is outwardly submissive, for the state of the hypocrite is that he is like the Muslims. Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not kill them despite his knowledge of their hypocrisy; because they are Muslims outwardly and do not oppose,
And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believeوَإِذَا لَقُوا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قَالُوا آمَنَّا
[Surah al-Baqarah: 14] .

And it was said: They are Bedouins and also hypocrites; but they are weak in faith. They walk with people in the outward appearance of the Shari'ah; but their hearts are weak, and their faith is weak.

So, according to the first view, his saying:
for faith has not yet entered your heartsوَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ الْأِيمَانُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ
[Surah al-Hujurat: 14] that it did not enter at all. This is according to the view that they are hypocrites.

And on the second view: Meaning: Faith has not entered them with complete, absolute entry. They have faith; but faith has not reached their hearts in a state of perfection.

And the rule for us in exegesis: If a verse can be understood in two meanings, it is to be understood in both, as long as they do not contradict each other. If they do contradict, the stronger position is sought.
The bedouins say, "We have believed." Say, "You have not [yet] believed; but say [instead], 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your hearts.قَالَتِ الْأَعْرَابُ آمَنَّا قُلْ لَمْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَلَكِنْ قُولُوا أَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ الْأِيمَانُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ
[Al-Hujurat 49:14]
.
And if you obey Allah and His Messenger
[Al-Hujurat 49:14]
Meaning, their obedience in the outward appearance is to be understood as faith in the inward reality.
He will not deprive you from your deeds of anything
[Al-Hujurat 49:14]
He will not diminish
Meaning: It will not diminish anything from your deeds; because Allah the Exalted does not wrong anyone.
(7) So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, (8) And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
[Surah al-Zalzalah: 7-8] Any amount, it will be given to the person. But, glory to Allah, the mercy of Allah preceded His anger.
So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it,فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْراً يَرَهُ
[Surah al-Zalzalah: 7] and he will be rewarded for it,
And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
[Surah al-Zalzalah: 8] And will he be punished? He may be punished, or Allah may forgive him.
So, bad deeds can be erased, but good deeds cannot be diminished. And for this he said:
He will not deprive you from your deeds of anything
[Al-Hujurat 49:14]
After that: ((Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful)) and we have previously discussed these two noble names.
And we will stop at this extent, and what is derived from this verse will come, if Allah wills; because the time for questions has arrived.
