Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And that it is He who causes death and gives life)

Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Najm: 44] He causes death in this world and gives life in this world, and He also causes death in this world and gives life in the Hereafter. Now, you find among people that the soul is breathed into one today, and thus Allah has given him life, while the soul is extracted from the body of another, and thus Allah has caused him to die, and so on. It is He who causes death and gives life. There is also a general distinction and a general life; He caused the world to die in this world and gave them life in the Hereafter. So it is He who created death and He who created life, and these two are also opposites: life and death, all of it is from Allah (Mighty and Majestic); for Allah the Exalted is capable of all things.
