Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: If the wife's father conditions upon the husband that the daughter work, and after consummation... The Shaykh: What do you mean by the daughter working? The questioner: The wife working.
The Shaykh: That she is employed.
The questioner: That she is employed, meaning she has a job. So, if there is harm, is the husband obligated to fulfill the condition? The Shaykh: If the wife's father conditions upon the husband at the time of the contract that he keep the wife working, he is obligated to fulfill the condition;because of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Ma'idah: 1] And the command to fulfill contracts includes fulfilling the original contract and its conditions,And by His saying, Exalted is He: [Al-Isra: 34] But if the husband and wife agree that she leave her job and occupy herself in her husband's house with her children, the father has no authority over them.
So the right now belongs to the wife; if she is willing to leave her job, the father has no authority over her, and he cannot force her to work.
