Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth)]

The last verse we read is the saying of Allah Blessed and Exalted:
to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earthلَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ
[Al-Hadid: 5] (To Him) means: to Allah the Exalted alone, (the dominion of the heavens and the earth) in creation and management, so no one possesses the dominion of the heavens and the earth except Allah Mighty and Majestic, neither independently nor in partnership,Allah the Exalted said:
Say, [O Muhammad], "Invoke those you claim [as deities] besides Allah." They do not possess an atom's weight [of ability] in the heavens or on the earth, and they do not have therein any partnershipقُلِ ادْعُوا الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ لا يَمْلِكُونَ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا لَهُمْ فِيهِمَا مِنْ شِرْكٍ
[Saba: 22] So He negated independence and negated partnership:
nor is there for Him from among them any assistant.وَمَا لَهُ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ ظَهِيرٍ
[Saba: 22] meaning: there is nothing of Allah from them, (a supporter) meaning: a helper who assisted Him in creating the heavens and the earth, so to Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, we know that their number is seven,Allah the Exalted said:
Say, "Who is Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Great Throne?"قُلْ مَنْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
[Al-Mu'minun: 86] the earths, their number is seven, as that came clearly in the Qur'an and explicitly in the Sunnah,Allah the Exalted said:
It is Allah who has created seven heavens and of the earth, the like of themاللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ وَمِنَ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلَهُنَّ
[Al-Talaq: 12] meaning: in number, and it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: (Whoever seizes a span of the earth unjustly, Allah will encircle him with it on the Day of Resurrection from the seven earths) .

Allah the Exalted said:
And to Allah [all] matters are returned.وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الْأُمُورُ
[Al-Hadid: 5] all matters,Meaning: public and private affairs, religious and worldly and hereafter-related, all of them return to Allah Mighty and Majestic, He disposes as He wills and judges as He wills, and there is no turning back from His judgment Mighty and Majestic, do the private affairs of man return to Allah?
Yes.
They return to Allah, and therefore it is obligatory for you when a calamity befalls you to turn to Allah Mighty and Majestic, because the polytheists—and they are polytheists—when calamities that they are unable to handle befall them, they turn to Allah Mighty and Majestic, when the winds rage against them in the seas and they are on ships, to whom do they turn? To Allah Mighty and Majestic, they ask Him to save them while they are polytheists, so how about you, O Muslim?! Turn to Allah in everything, small or large, religious or worldly, pertaining to you or your family, do not turn to other than Allah, so whoever places his need with Allah, it is fulfilled, and whoever places his need with other than Allah, he is entrusted to it.

Therefore: We say:
And to Allah [all] matters are returned.وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الْأُمُورُ
[Al-Hadid: 5] which matters? All matters, public matters, religious and worldly and hereafter-related matters, and private and public matters, and if you believe in this and you must believe in it, you become one who does not turn to other than Allah Mighty and Majestic.
