A man wants to marry but does not have the costs, and he has been offered help, so what do you say about that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says:The questioner : I am a young man, and marriage has become obligatory for me because the validity of my prayer depends on it, and I do not have the costs of marriage. And Allah the Exalted said:
But let them who find not [the means for] marriage abstain [from sexual relations] until Allah enriches them from His bounty.
[An-Nur 24:33]
the verse. Some of them have offered to help me, so what do you say about that? May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : I say that if help is offered to you without you asking for it, accept it and marry with it. This falls under the saying of Allah the Exalted:
until Allah enriches them from His bounty
[An-Nur 24:33]
For Allah has sent this man to you to help you. As for going and asking people to help you, there is something in that that is difficult to accept. Even though some scholars say there is no harm in it, and the rule according to some scholars is: "That whoever is permitted to take something is permitted to ask for it". It is known that a person who does not find what to pay as a mahr is known to be among those eligible for zakah. He is given from the zakah what suffices him for a mahr, even if it is much. But despite that, we do not see that a person should ask in order to get married. We see that the best and most scrupulous thing is to be chaste until Allah enriches him from His bounty. And this is indicated by
that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, "Messenger of Allah! I have given myself to you."
Muwatta Malik 28:8
and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) it is permissible to marry by gift without a mahr.
So he raised his gaze to her and looked at her, then he was silent.
As if he did not desire her,
So a man stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, if you have no need of her, then marry me to her. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: What will you give her as a gift? He said: I will give her my izar (loincloth).
and the narrator of the hadith is Sahl ibn Sa'd
- He had no cloak. -
. And what does "he had no cloak" mean? It means he had nothing on him but an izar (loincloth) above his chest, and he was naked outside.
So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: How will you give her your izar? If you give it to her, you will remain without an izar, and if you keep it, you will not have given her a gift - because you did not give her the sadaq - but go and seek, until he said: Seek, even if it is a ring of iron.
And it is one of the most ascetic things
So he came and said: O Messenger of Allah, I did not find anything, not even a ring of iron. He said: Do you have anything of the Qur'an? He said: Yes, such and such a surah. He said: I have married you to her with what you have of the Qur'an.
meaning he taught her. So you see that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not ask for him, he did not say to the people, "Give charity to him." And he himself did not go and ask the people, saying, "Give me." But in dire necessity, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for charity for the people who came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a delegation from Khuzaa', I think, and they stayed in the mosque of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The face of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) changed when he saw these people, who were the great ones of the Arabs and the nobles of the Arabs, wearing camel hair cloaks, and poverty had affected them. So he called (peace and blessings be upon him) the people to give charity, and they gave charity to them. But he did not order the people to give charity to this one who said, "I do not have what to pay as a mahr." Rather, he said, "Seek, even if it is a ring of iron."
So I say: The summary of the answer is that whoever does not have a mahr that he can pay, let him be chaste and not ask the people. This is the best. But if he is given without asking, there is no harm in accepting it and paying what he is given as a sadaq.
