Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The honorable Shaykh said: You mentioned the conditions and recommended practices of ritual slaughter. And you did not mention facing the qiblah in ritual slaughter. So what is its ruling?

The Shaykh : Facing the qiblah in ritual slaughter is not obligatory. The animal is slaughtered even if the person is not facing the qiblah. But the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) said: It is better to face the qiblah with it because it is an act of worship. But they did not say that it is a condition. So if a person slaughters it in a direction other than the qiblah, it is lawful and not disliked, and there is no harm in it, contrary to the common belief of the general public. Some of the general public say: It is necessary to face the qiblah, and this is not correct. Yes.
