I am a young man; whenever I enter into my prayer, Satan whispers to me, and I imagine that I am afflicted with possession, and I always want to go to someone to recite over me.

The questioner : A questioner says, O honorableThe Shaykh : I am a young man; whenever I enter into my prayer.
The Shaykh : What am I?
The questioner : He says: I am a young man; whenever I enter into my prayer, Satan whispers to me, and I imagine that I am afflicted with possession. I always want to go to someone to recite over me. I also imagine things that are impossible to happen. Is there any dhikr (remembrance of Allah) that will drive this away from me?
The Shaykh : Yes, dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and praise be to Allah exist. Every disease has a cure. The shayatin (devils) and jinn are not a witnessed world that a person can get rid of them with weapons or soldiers. But they are an unseen world that they are empowered over those who have not fortified themselves with the awrad (prescribed recitations). Therefore, I urge you to increase in the awrad, to increase in dhikr, so that you may be safe from the consequences of these. I advise this brother to increase in the remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and in reading the Qur'an and seeking refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. And if he feels something and thinks that it is from the possession of the jinn, let him say to himself: How can the jinn possess us? I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. Let him be patient and endure with the dhikr and the Qur'an, for it will be removed from him by the power of Allah. Yes.
