The supplications recited to rid oneself of Satan's whispers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: What are the supplications recited for the purpose of getting rid of Satan's whispers?

A: A person should supplicate with whatever supplications Allah has made easy for him, such as saying: (O Allah, protect me from Satan, O Allah, save me from Satan, O Allah, guard me from Satan, O Allah, help me to remember You, thank You, and worship You well, O Allah, protect me from the schemes of Satan). He should increase his remembrance of Allah and recitation of the Qur'an, and seek refuge in Allah from the whispers of the accursed Satan, even during prayer.
If obsessive doubts overcome him during prayer, it is prescribed for him to spit to his left (three times) and seek refuge in Allah from Satan three times; because it is authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that al-Thaqafi's Uthman ibn Abi al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him) complained to him about the doubts he experienced in prayer, so he ordered him to spit to his left (three times) and seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan while in prayer. He did so, and what he experienced went away from him.
The conclusion is: if a believing man or woman is afflicted with this matter, they must strive to ask Allah for well-being from it, seek refuge in Allah from Satan frequently, and be diligent in combating it in prayer and elsewhere. When he performs ablution, he should be certain that he has performed it and not repeat the ablution. When he prays, he should be certain that he has prayed and not repeat the prayer. Likewise, when he says the takbir, he should not repeat the takbir; in order to oppose the enemy of Allah and humiliate him. He should not submit to his whispers, but rather strive to seek refuge in Allah from them, and be strong in the war against the enemy of Allah so that he does not overcome him.
