Allah has heard the statement of the woman who disputes with you regarding her husband and complains to Allah, and Allah hears your conversation. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing. [1] Those who practice zihar with their wives from among you, they are not their mothers. Their mothers are only those who gave birth to them. And indeed, they say an evil statement and a lie. And indeed, Allah is Pardoning and Forgiving. [2] And those who practice zihar with their wives and then return from what they said, then the freeing of a slave before they touch one another. That is what you are admonished with, and Allah is Acquainted with what you do. [3] But whoever does not find [a slave], then fasting for two consecutive months before they touch one another. But whoever is not able, then feeding sixty poor people. That is so that you may believe in Allah and His Messenger, and those are the limits of Allah, and for the disbelievers is a painful punishment. [4] Indeed, those who oppose Allah and His Messenger have been humbled, just as those before them were humbled. And We have sent down clear verses, and for the disbelievers is a humiliating punishment. [5] The Day when Allah will resurrect them all and inform them of what they did; Allah has counted it, but they forgot it. And Allah is a Witness over all things. [6] Have you not seen that Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is on the earth? There is no secret conversation of three people but He is the fourth of them, nor five but He is the sixth of them, nor fewer than that nor more but He is with them wherever they are. Then He will inform them of what they did on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of all things. [7] Have you not seen those who were forbidden from secret conversation, then they return to what they were forbidden from, and they converse with sin, aggression, and disobedience to the Messenger? And when they come to you, they greet you with what Allah has not greeted you with, and they say within themselves, "Why does not Allah punish us for what we say?" Sufficient for them is Hell; they will enter it, so evil is the destination. [8] O you who believe! When you converse in secret, do not converse with sin, aggression, and disobedience to the Messenger, but converse with righteousness and piety, and fear Allah to whom you will be gathered. [9] Only the Shaytan is the source of secret conversation, to grieve those who believe, but he will not harm them in anything except by the permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely. [10] O you who believe! When it is said to you, "Make room in the gatherings," then make room; Allah will make room for you. And when it is said, "Rise up," then rise up; Allah will raise those who believe among you and those who were given knowledge in degrees. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do. [11] O you who believe! When you converse in secret with the Messenger, precede your secret conversation with a charity. That is better for you and purer. But if you do not find [charity], then indeed Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. [12] Are you afraid that you will not precede your secret conversation with charities? Then when you did not do it and Allah turned to you in mercy, establish the prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do. [13] Have you not seen those who turned to a people upon whom the anger of Allah is? They are not from you nor from them, and they swear falsely while they know. [14] Allah has prepared for them a severe punishment. Indeed, they are....
