Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The honorable Shaykh, is it permissible for a woman to use makeup and dyes, meaning as adornment for her husband? We ask for your guidance on this. May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : Yes, it is permissible for a woman to adorn herself for her husband with all types of adornment that are not forbidden, whether that is in the eyes, the cheeks, the lips, or other places of adornment and beauty. However, it is not permissible for her to dye her hair black if it contains white.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited that, and the basis of prohibition is that it is forbidden. Also, this is a form of opposing the natural creation that the wisdom of Allah the Exalted decreed for humans to have in old age, which is the whitening of hair. If a person blackens it, it is as if he wants to return himself to youth. However, I have been informed that makeup harms a woman’s facial skin. In that case, it is necessary to take the opinions of doctors on this matter. If they say that it harms her skin, even in the future, then in this situation she should not use it.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. Also, a listener from the Arab Republic of Egypt asks and says.
