I am a Muslim man committed to the commands of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I am a Muslim man committed to the commands of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). When I perform the fasting in the month of Ramadan, I have a break from work, and as a result, I intentionally stay up all night every day, so this staying up continues until midnight, and I sleep a lot during the day, so I do not feel thirsty. Is my fasting valid in my situation?

The Shaykh : Yes, your fasting is valid because being awake is not a condition of fasting. If a person sleeps a long time while fasting, his fasting is valid and his conscience is cleared. However, it is obligatory for you to wake up to perform the prayer in congregation in the mosques, and it is not permissible for you to be negligent regarding the congregational prayer. It is well known that it is better for the fasting person to occupy himself with obedience, the remembrance of Allah, reading the Qur'an, and the like of what brings one closer to Allah. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. The listener is from the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, Faisal Faraj Abdul Razzaq, he says.
