The questioner : I married a girl seven years ago, and we now have three children. My wife and I are in a state of marital happiness that is unparalleled. However, there has been a constant disagreement between my wife and my father since the very first moment. I left the country to work abroad and left the situation as it was. While I was traveling, the conflict between my wife and the family intensified, and my brothers swore an oath that my wife should leave the house, and she actually did leave.
What is your advice to me? Should I divorce my wife to please my father, or should I leave the house and take my wife with me to protect our children? We ask you for guidance.

The Shaykh : What I see is that you should not divorce your wife as long as she is upholding the right of Allah, your right, and the rights of your children. Rather, you should remain with her as you described, in a happy life where you protect your children and cooperate in doing good. It is possible to avoid this discord and conflict between her and your family by having her live in a house by herself, and it is good for it to be close to the family so that it is easy for you to fulfill your duty toward the family. In this situation, you perform kindness toward your parents and maintain ties with your relatives in the manner that pleases Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to the extent of your ability. I cannot judge at this moment whether the fault lies with your wife regarding your family, or with your family regarding your wife. But since the solution before us is clear, which is to separate her into a house, and you live with her in a happy and praiseworthy marital life where you both protect your children and cooperate in righteousness and piety, and you remain with your people fulfilling kindness toward your parents and maintaining ties with your relatives, I say that as long as this solution exists and it is easy and facilitated, and praise be to Allah, this is what I see for you.
