The questioner : I have constant pain in my legs, especially in the joints, and this prevents me from sitting between the two prostrations, as I am unable to sit but must lean on my hands. As for sitting for the tashahhud, I extend my legs and sit on a chair, and I do the same with the sunnah prayers. Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good?

The Shaykh : The advice is to recite the words of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity لا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
and His words, the Exalted:
So fear Allah as much as you are able فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[At-Taghabun 64:16]
If she is able to sit in the usual manner in prayer, she should do so. If she is not able to do so except by sitting on her knees, she should do so. If she is not able to do so except by leaning on her hands, she should do so according to her ability, for Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is free from the need to torment ourselves. Allah the Exalted said:
What would Allah do with your punishment if you are grateful and believe? مَا يَفْعَلُ اللَّهُ بِعَذَابِكُمْ إِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ وَءامَنْتُمْ
[An-Nisa 4:147]
Let her fear Allah according to her ability, based on the verses we mentioned and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to 'Imran ibn Husayn:
offer prayer in standing condition; if you are unable to do so, then in sitting condition: if you are then at your side صل قائماً، فإن لم تستطع فقاعداً، فإن لم تستطع فعلى جنب
Sunan Abi Dawud 952Sahih (Al-Albani)
Yes.

The questioner : This questioner says, "O honorable Shaykh, is it permissible?" He says in his question.
