Continuation of the explanation of the hadith: His saying (peace and blessings be upon him): (… you leave the people from their shirk)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : That you do something for him, as came in the completion of the hadith. He said, “So it is established that [he is] lost, and he is a man with dependents, one who is poor. Or you do a good deed for an *akhrak*. The *akhrak* is the opposite of what comes to people’s minds. The *akhrak* is the one who has no craft, the one who has no way [to earn]. So you help him in that. So if we suppose, for example, that you are a carpenter and your neighbor’s tools have suffered some malfunction, and you help him, and he is not in a position to make any of that himself, then this is charity…
So, if you are not able to do some work to earn money and give it in charity, then at the very least, help a poor man with dependents in his need with your body, or do a good deed for an *akhrak* with your craft. The questioner follows the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in his questions, stage by stage, until he benefits. So first, he asked him about the best of freeing slaves, and it became clear to him that the best of freeing slaves is the most expensive in price and the most precious to its people. This means that he should have a slave with a price and give him in charity, but he is not able to do so because he needs money to buy such a slave and give him in charity. So he redirected him to helping some of the needy by assisting them with his body. He said, “What do you think if I am weak?” Meaning, I am not one who is able to give charity with money, nor am I one who is able to help with my body and my strength. He said
Spare people your evil. That is a sadaqa which you bestow on yourself. تدع الناس من الشر فإنها صدقة تصدقها على نفسك
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 14:47
. So then, if you do not manage to work… because you do not possess the price, and you were not able to help a poor man with his body, or another with his craft, then at the very least, stay away from evil and free the people from your evil. So this staying away from evil is a charity that you give to yourself. And this is, in reality, the ultimate of Allah’s favor upon His believing servants, where He made the Muslim’s staying away from evil a charity from him that returns to himself.
