The Shaykh : ... That some of the later scholars have hesitated regarding the authenticity of attributing this hadith to Imam Muslim, and the reason for this is clear and evident, which is that the hadith has a connection to the trials that occur before the Hour, so in that regard it is exactly like the hadith that follows it. The person referred to went back to the Book of Trials in Sahih Muslim and did not find the hadith in the Book of Trials, so he doubted that this hadith was in Sahih Muslim. But the reality is that this attribution by the author and others of this hadith to Imam Muslim is a correct attribution. However, the only thing is that he narrated it in a place that is not the expected location for it. That is because he narrated it in the Book of Faith, which is the first book in Imam Muslim's books in his Sahih, while the other book where one expects to find it is the last book in Sahih Muslim, which is the Book of Trials. So when some researchers did not find this hadith in the Book of Trials in Sahih Muslim, they thought that its attribution to Muslim was an error, and their thought was the error. Imam Muslim narrated it, as we said, in the Book of Faith, from the beginning of his Sahih, and it is in the old Istanbul edition, which was photographed in Egypt a few years ago, in the first volume, on page sixty-seven.
