The Shaykh : The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah is Pure and does not accept anything but what is pure, and indeed, Allah commanded the believers with what He commanded the messengers. So He, the Exalted, said: "O you who believe, eat from the good things We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is Him you worship." And He, the Exalted, said: "O messengers, eat from the good things and do righteous deeds. Indeed, I am, with what you do, Acquainted." Then he mentioned the man who lengthens his travel, disheveled and dusty, extending his two hands to the sky: "O Lord, O Lord." And his food is forbidden, and his clothing is forbidden, and his drink is forbidden, and he is nourished with the forbidden, so how will it be answered?.
Look, my brothers, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned several things among the causes for the acceptance of supplication:
First: travel, and travel is a place where supplication is likely to be answered. Second: disheveled hair and dust, and the person being neither luxurious nor concerned with his clothing and appearance, but rather concerned with rectifying his heart, not with rectifying his garment.
Sahih Muslim 1015 And extending the hands to the sky is among the causes for acceptance because it is the servant displaying his need for Allah, and that he extends his hands to Him in the state of the poor, weak beggar who hopes for the mercy of Allah and the giving of Allah. Jami` at-Tirmidhi 385Da'if (Darussalam) He supplicates to Allah the Exalted with this name which is the requirement for the creation of things, because Lordship is that by which creation is achieved and existence is brought about, so he says: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 385Da'if (Darussalam) He seeks nearness to Allah the Exalted with this name by which creation and existence occur.
So he sought nearness to Allah the Exalted with four things, which are:
The student: Travel.
The Shaykh : Travel, the second?
The student: ... .
The Shaykh : He extends his hands to the sky, the fourth?
The student: He says: O Lord, O Lord.
The Shaykh : He says: O Lord, O Lord.
Well done.

He lifts his hand towards the sky
O Lord! O Lord!
O Lord! O Lord!
