What is the ruling on using the injection for spinal meningitis, and does it contradict reliance upon Allah?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now that the time has ended, and I had expected a question that is frequently asked, which is the use of the injection for spinal meningitis. Some people have said that this is forbidden because it contradicts reliance upon Allah. However, we say that this is part of reliance upon Allah, because reliance upon Allah is sincere dependence on Allah while taking the means. Therefore, the master of those who rely on Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), when he fought the enemy, would wear armor and take shelter. In fact, at Uhud, he wore two armors, (peace and blessings be upon him). This is protection from evil. So using these injections is not wrong and does not contradict reliance upon Allah; rather, it is part of taking the beneficial means by which Allah repels evil. We ask Allah to protect us and you from the evil of our souls and the badness of our deeds, and to return us all with a gathering like this, and to make us among the listeners who benefit. And may peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
