If deeds are not accepted except with sincerity and following the Sunnah, how do we reconcile the saying of Allah the Exalted:

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A questioner asks: What is your guidance, may Allah guide you, if it is known that a deed is not accepted unless it is sincere for Allah and in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? What is the reconciliation for the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And when they board a ship, they supplicate Allah, sincere to Him in religion. But when He delivers them to the land, at once they associate others with Him فإذا ركبوا في الفلك دعوا الله مخلصين له الدين فلما نجاهم إلى البر إذا هم يشركون
[Al-'Ankabut 29:65]
?

The Shaykh : Supplication in times of distress is a state in which a person is sincere. Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, said in His Book:
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah
[An-Naml 27:62]
So, if a person is compelled in any circumstance to need something, even if he is a disbeliever and he calls upon his Lord, Allah the Exalted will answer his supplication. He will answer his supplication no matter who he is. So we say that these people who, when they ride on ships, call upon Allah making their religion sincere for Him, are only calling upon Allah in a state of dire necessity, and Allah the Exalted answers the supplication of the one in dire necessity. Just as He answers the supplication of the oppressed, even if he is a disbeliever. If you wrong a person and he is a disbeliever and he supplicates against you, Allah will answer his supplication. On this occasion, we warn the employers who wrong their workers by not giving them their wages. We warn them of the supplication of the workers against them, even if the workers are disbelievers, for Allah, Exalted and Exalted is He, will answer their supplication. The evidence for this is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Beware of the supplication of the oppressed for there is no barrier between him and Allah. اتق دعوة المظلوم فإنه ليس بينها وبين الله حجاب
Sahih Muslim 19a
And from the evidence of reason: The evidence from reason is that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has a just decree. He hates injustice. So when the oppressed supplicates against his oppressor, Allah answers him to establish justice, to establish justice, and to take the right of the one who has a right. Therefore, we say that the supplication of the one in dire necessity is answered, even if it is from a disbeliever, and the supplication of the oppressed is answered, even if it is from a disbeliever. As for worshipping Allah in prayer or the like, this is not accepted except with sincerity and Islam. Yes.
