Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward the honorableThe Shaykh : A person from a neighboring country contacted me, wanting to ask you about the ruling on a woman who used to menstruate during Ramadan, so she would break her fast and not make up the fasts after Ramadan, and this has been the case for thirty years; what is required of her?

The Shaykh : If this woman is in a place far from scholars and students of knowledge, such as one who grows up in a remote desert and does not know about this ruling, then she owes nothing, she owes nothing, because she is excused. But if she was negligent, in that she was in a country with scholars, a city where such a ruling is not hidden from one who is negligent and careless, then she has to make up what she left behind. And if she is in doubt, she should take the certainty, which is the lesser amount. So if she is in doubt whether she left making up the fasts in three years or two years, let her take two years, or three or four, let her take three, and so on.
