It is known that there are hadiths forbidding prayer in trousers, and the pant is a type of trousers.

The questioner : There is a small question, meaning one that many school students need, and it is the question: Is the pant...

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : He says, although there are hadiths forbidding prayer in trousers, and the pant is a type of trousers, but if he does not pray the midday prayer at school, he will miss the midday prayer; because he arrives home with the afternoon prayer; so what does he do?

The Shaykh : He should remove himself from the pant.

The questioner : He cannot.

The Shaykh : Why?

The questioner : Because wearing the pant is mandatory in schools.

The Shaykh : Fine; change the whole program, change this compulsion, and argue before the authorities that we are Muslims, and we want to worship Allah as our Lord has legislated for us, and if, of course, I know that this matter requires enormous efforts, and for that to be realized, then the pious student should use the abaya, or anything that covers his awrah (part of the body that must be covered).

The questioner: All right.

The Shaykh : And this is not an excuse for him.

The questioner: But we...

The Shaykh: Huh?

The questioner : Because in some questions, the Shaykh has answered in other gatherings, and the agreement is that it be limited to an hour and a third or an hour and a half, and now we have approached this, so we will suffice with this, but these questions - if Allah wills - may come up in another near occasion in other gatherings where the Shaykh answers them, and may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : If Allah wills.
