The questioner : On the occasion of Hajj and the Hajj season, here is a poem titled "The Sacred Ka'bah."
"The House of the Divine and the descent of mercies *** And the place of return for man in his crises
Safety within it and security for the refugee *** And purity within it for the repentant who comes
It is the first of houses built for piety *** For the worship of the Most Merciful, for the prayers
It is the qiblah for all Muslims *** In every land, at every prayer
Allah has magnified it and raised its status *** A symbol of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) in a barren land
A house in a desert devoid of vegetation *** As the Divine willed, the foremost of mercies
If the water of the earth around its courtyard is little *** Then tears wash away the ill omens of sins
Dust for souls, opening around it *** Sufficient for the greenery and the flowers
The rustling of the wings of eternity is a passage *** Rising above melodies and tunes
The hearts of the believers humbled by its nearness *** And the moaning rose, with humbled voices
Here I am, Lord of the Throne, we have come bareheaded *** And on the faces are signs of sorrows
From every valley, from all its regions *** From a traveler or a desolate path
From every kind, and all are proclaiming the talbiyah *** Despite the difference in speech and dialects
The garment of all of them wraps them in its whiteness *** With simplicity in appearance and features
They left the world and rejected its adornment *** And came with the simplest garment and life
The House draws them to the obedience of their Lord *** And the call of Ibrahim in the deserts
They come having left the trade of their land *** For a trade that saves from sorrows
Religion and faith are the best trade *** Profit, and what a profit, in the Gardens
The House is the pivot of the mill around which *** Creatures revolved in weeping humility
A symbol of unity, tawhid, and guidance *** And purity, tawhid, and humility
If the tawhid of its people was defiled at a time *** Then Muhammad, without doubt, is coming to them
To smash the idols from its walls *** And to deal blows to the statues
And to restore the roots of the pure religion *** And its branches with determination and steadfastness
And to kiss the noble stone seeking blessing *** With the blood of Ibrahim, the one with the bonds
Before the stones, Ahmad was a worshipper *** And he is the one who smashed the head of al-Lat
But it is a revival of the memory of one who was scattered *** Who raised the foundations and the terraces
The etiquette of the grandchildren toward their grandfathers *** Their recognition of the favor and the nearness
The Companions knew what their Prophet intended *** And he is the one obeyed by his command, the verses
They said, "We obey our Prophet in the Sunnah *** Despite our ignorance of the reality of the goals
A stone we kiss, not thinking, but rather *** We choose the path of the best of role models
A stone from the Gardens that comes as a witness *** On the Day of Resurrection, truthful in its speech
And so is the Qur'an, the best arguer *** For every reciter, eternal in good deeds
O owner of the great House, be gentle *** With the circumambulators and the shedders of tears
They came to you scooping up abundant favor *** And they came from the horizons nearly naked
They humbled themselves to the might of their Lord and touched *** The House and supplicated with every tongue
So bestow upon the supplicants and accept their excuse *** And open for them the gates of blessings
We do not hope for a Lord other than You, for we *** Are holding fast to the rope of salvation"
