Does letting the trousers hang below the ankles fall under this hadith: (What is below the ankles is in the Fire), or not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Another questioner: What is below the ankles is in the Fire. Does this also include trousers and pants if one must wear trousers?

The Shaykh: You need another correction, but it seems the slip came from me, not from you. I intended to say if someone else had said it.

Is it not a relative pronoun?

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh: , and it is not a name that implies generality and comprehensiveness? .

The questioner: This is what I have, but some of the brothers conveyed to me from some scholars that they exclude trousers and pants.

The Shaykh: What Allah willed, the one they excluded is more deserving of being left out than others, because it combines two, or rather three, calamities: imitating the disbelievers, wearing what reveals the 'awrah, and letting the garment hang below the ankles; so where did this exception come from?

The questioner: There is no evidence for it.

The Shaykh: No, this is contrary to the evidences, not contrary to the evidence.
