What is the ruling on proxy in Hajj, where the proxy demanded a large sum of money? Is that permissible?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says: What is the ruling on proxy in Hajj, where this proxy demanded a large sum of money from me? Should I give it to him?

The Shaykh : Proxy in Hajj is only for a person who has not performed the obligatory act and is physically unable to reach Makkah with an inability that is not expected to end. As for one who is healthy, he does not appoint a proxy for another, neither for the obligatory act nor for a voluntary one. Likewise, one who is ill but hopes that Allah will cure him of his illness does not appoint a proxy for another; rather, he waits until Allah cures him of his illness, and then he performs the obligatory act himself.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
