What is the reward of the one who takes responsibility for a widow and her children, and does a woman share in that reward?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says: What is the reward of the one who takes responsibility for a widow and her children, and does a woman share in that reward?

The Shaykh : There is no doubt that if a person takes on the responsibility of the poor by spending on them, looking after their circumstances, meeting their needs, and correcting their morals, he has a great reward, especially if there are orphans among them, for Allah the Exalted has commanded kindness to orphans. This reward is not known to us, because no specific reward has been mentioned in the Book or the Sunnah for such a deed, but it falls within the general reward of those who do good. And Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, said:
And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good. وَأَحْسِنُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
[Al-Baqarah 2:195]
As for orphans, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
I and the sponsor of an orphan shall be in Paradise like these two."And he indicaed with his fingers, meaning his index and his middle finger أنا وكافل اليتيم في الجنة كهاتين، وأشار بإصبعه السبابة والتي تليها
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1918Sahih (Darussalam)
Meaning that he is paired with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) as the index finger is paired with the middle finger. This is undoubtedly a great reward.
